Background
2007 Dr Andrew Ritcheson: Life Coach London
I believe that an important aspect of what happens during a life coaching or psychological consultation is determined by what both
parties bring to the session. Good working partnerships that are orientated towards growth, understanding and development are
based on both people contributing genuinely and authentically.
I have an international background and a real appreciation for cultural and individual diversity. I was born in London, of American
parents, and educated in the United States, France and England. The experiences I have had in my life in these different places
have had an important and lasting impact on me, and the openness, respect and curiosity with which I view others.
My academic
background is equally varied. I studied French literature at the Sorbonne, before coming to England to take my first honours degree
in Psychology. I undertook my first doctorate at Oxford University in Abnormal Psychology, where I tutored and held the Brokhue's
Graduate Award in Arts and Humanities for my work in anxiety. I had a further three years training in Clinical Psychology. I have
also undertaken further training with Charles Bentley, PhD in Unitive life coaching. I have practiced extensively in the fields
of adult mental health, life-span psychology, existential practice, and health and illness. I am published in the area of sexual health,
and have had my research into male and female sexuality presented at several major international conferences. I am also a member of
a range of professional bodies including the British Psychological Society, and the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive
Psychotherapies. I am also a Chartered Psychologist (BPS) and hold a valid, current practising certificate.
